Everyplace Synchronization Server

Preparing to install the DB2 Everyplace

Because SyncML does not support synchronization with JDBC-compliant relational databases, the Everyplace Synchronization Server includes an integrated version of DB2 Everyplace for this purpose. Enterprise data can be synchronized between the backend relational databases and mobile devices. Synchronization Server includes an embedded version of DB2 Everyplace that has been customized for Synchronization Server environment. Therefore, when working with DB2 Everyplace, note the following:

There is no information you need to have available in advance of installing DB2 Everyplace (DB2 Everyplace). The install process imports the DB2 Everyplace Sync Servlet into the WebSphere Application Server. The servlet status can be viewed from the WebSphere Application Server Administrative Console. After you complete the installation, the servlet is up and running.

Installation also includes the Mobile Devices Administration Center. You use this tool to administer DB2 Everyplace. For instructions on launching and using Mobile Devices Administration Center, see Using Mobile Devices Administration Center.
