Introduction

This sample demonstrates how you can create a Windows® .NET® client which makes use of the Web service API delivered with WebSphere Process Server. In this sample, the focus is on setting up the configuration properly including all security definitions required.

In addition, it is shown how to prepare the input data for a business process, start a business process, query the status of the process and display the results.

This sample covers how to:

• access the Web Services description file (WSDL) of WebSphere Process Server,
• generate a C# proxy from this description file,
• make the C# proxy ready for using secured Web Services,
• use the C# proxy in a simple Windows .NET client application,
• handle input and output objects, create a process instance, and query its state.

Prerequisites

Before working with this sample, make sure you have the following software installed on your computer:

• Microsoft Visual Studio .NET® 2005 (License required),
• Web Services Enhancements (WSE) 2.0 SP3 for Microsoft .NET (or a newer version of WSE).
