Power-On Self Test (POST)

The POST tests the following each time the 7526 DCT is powered on (for warm-restart purposes, RAM is not tested):

After a normal POST completion, information is displayed about the following items: If POST finds the display inoperative, the beeper sounds twice per second, downloading is inhibited, and a power-on reset or pressing any key causes POST to restart.

Setup Mode

The setup mode allows selecting configuration parameters for the 7526 DCT. Pressing and releasing the Shift key and then pressing the keylock key enters the setup mode. Once in the setup mode, pressing any key other than the Enter key, scrolls through the choices, and pressing the Enter key selects a parameter. Pressing the Clear key exits the setup mode.

The parameters available in the setup mode are:

Setup Detail

The cold-start power-up screen is followed by the copyright message.

To enter the Setup mode, press the Enter key. If password is set, the screen clears and the following message is displayed:

The display is filled with XXX's as the password is entered.

Note:

Setup mode may also be entered by pressing and releasing the Shift key and then pressing the keylock key.

If a password has not been set or the correct password has been entered, the following is displayed:

Pressing any key other than the Enter key advances through the available addresses (a-y or 0-6), then pressing the Enter key selects the desired address.

Note:

The Clear function can be used only to exit Setup after a valid communications address has been selected. This is in effect during the first Setup after a cold-start to ensure that the setup mode is not exited prior to selecting a valid terminal address.
