Files 2-7 are text validation files that are alphanumeric or compacted numeric and have a maximum size of 65535 bytes. The files contain fixed or variable length text records for validation of data entered from any source. If fixed length, each record must be of the specified length.
The number of records is user-defined, based on the amount of storage allocated for these files. Files may or may not be sorted and the records must be separated by a record separator (RS).
These files may be reloaded to change the file data with the restriction that the file size must be less than or equal to the memory size originally allocated for that validation file.
Note:
If the new file will be larger than the originally allocated file size, all required and needed files must be reallocated and reloaded.
