Starting the Database Server and Initialize Disk Space

To bring the database server to online mode, enter oninit.

If you are starting a new database server, use the oninit command with the -i flag to initialize the disk space and bring the database server to online mode.

If you are starting Extended Parallel Server for the first time, use the following command to initialize the disk space and to bring the database server into online mode on all coservers:

xctl -C oninit -iy

Warning:
When you initialize disk space, all of the existing data in the database server is destroyed. Initialize disk space only when you are starting a new database server.
