Setting Environment Variables

To start, stop, or access a database server, you must set the appropriate environment variables.

You can include the environment variables in the operating-system boot-up procedure, include the environment variables in your .cshrc or .informix file, or set the environment variables each time you log on. For information about .cshrc, refer to your operating-system manuals. For information about the .informix file and others files that the database server uses, refer to the IBM Informix: Administrator's Reference.

Tip:
The IBM Informix: Guide to SQL Reference contains a complete list of environment variables.
