Finding a Volume Name

ISM can detect whether a selected storage device has a volume already loaded and whether the volume already has an ISM label. If the physical label on the volume is missing or illegible, perform the following steps to determine its name.

To detect a storage volume
  1. Load the volume in a storage device.
  2. To detect the storage volume, use the following command:
    ism_op -detect device

ISM displays the volume name and pool name.
