For Extended Parallel Server 8.51 instances running on AIX 5.1 and newer AIX systems, the asynchronous IO driver supports more than 4K parallel KAIO requests in the system. XPS 8.50 and earlier versions restricted values of the IFMX_AIXKAIO_NUM_REQ environment variable to 4096, but XPS 8.51 can support up to 8192 parallel KAIO requests on AIX 5.1 and AIX 5.2 platforms.
