Single-User Mode in Conversion and Reversion

Conversion and reversion to or from XPS 8.51 require the server to be in single-user mode. During conversion to XPS 8.51, the database server remains in single-user mode after conversion has completed, until the administrator switches to another mode.

Reversion from XPS 8.51 follows this sequence of operations:

  1. Shut down the database server.
  2. Restart the server in single-user mode.
  3. Perform all reversion operations.
  4. Complete with the database server off-line.

Migration to XPS 8.51 is supported from the following earlier versions:

Reversion to the same earlier versions from XPS 8.51 is also supported.
