In This Chapter

This chapter describes a new mechanism, called a resource class, by which shared memory can be allocated to databases. This resource utilization feature enables DBAs to partition the memory available to PDQ queries among databases, so that memory can be available on a database for certain queries, even while resource intensive queries are running on another database of the same Extended Parallel Server instance.
