Modernized Runtime Extension for Java
Modernized Runtime Extension for Java (MoRE) enables WebSphere Application Server traditional to run a managed Liberty server administered through the traditional administrative console, wsadmin scripting, and JMX clients.
Review the known issues and limitations.
Managed Liberty servers are different from "Liberty profile servers" which are an older, assisted lifecycle offering.
Deployment Manager requirements
MoRE must be installed onto a ≥ 9.0.5.23 deployment manager profile; however, if you want your WAS traditional applications to stay on 8.5.5 application server profiles, then you may create a mixed version cell by upgrading the 8.5.5 deployment manager to 9.0.5 that continues to manage the 8.5.5 profiles, then create new 9.0.5 profiles for managed Liberty servers (potentially on the same nodes), and continue to administer the WAS traditional applications on 8.5.5 profiles.
