7526 DCT Reference

Power-Up Requirements

The 7526 DCT may be reset (restarted) in these ways:

Type of Reset
Description
Initial Start/Cold reset
An Initial Power-up/Cold reset of a new terminal requires setting all DCT-setup parameters and downloading files.

Note:

The phrase new terminal refers to a terminal in which the memory retention battery has been replaced, or a terminal which has been cold reset using the DCT setup menus.
.
Cool Reset
The cool reset is initiated through CMD 0 (option = 1). Download is required for all files; setup parameters are preserved.
Warm reset
The warm reset is initiated through a CMD 0 (option = 0), or by cycling power to the terminal. All current setup parameters and files are preserved.

When the 7526 DCT is powered-up, it executes a Power-On Self Test (POST). If an initial start/cold reset is executed, the terminal setup parameters (communications, and so forth) are set to default values (see defaults on page reference #1).

After the initial start/cold reset terminal setup is completed, the DCT waits for a poll from the terminal controller and requests a download of files by responding with a DC1.
