Configuring the Database Server to Use Distributed Queries

To use multiple IBM Informix servers for distributed queries, you must make sure that all of the database servers involved are configured to enable server-to-server communications over the network. The following configuration files may need to be edited to allow distributed queries:

The sqlhosts file contains connectivity information for each database server. To set up several database servers to use distributed queries, use one of the following ways to store the sqlhosts information for all the databases:

IBM Informix Extended Parallel Server Version 8.40 supports participant functionality only; distributed queries cannot originate from this version. IBM Informix Extended Parallel Server Version 8.50 supports both participant and coordinator functionality. Restrictions apply.
