Processor Type

Use the following parameters to specify the type of processors in your environment and to allocate the virtual processors.

You need to set the following parameters to specific values, depending upon the number of processors on each node of your parallel-processing platform:

For guidelines on setting these parameters, refer to Setting Virtual-Processor Configuration Parameters with a Text Editor.

Configuration
Parameter
Description

Specifies the appropriate type of locking.
NETTYPE
Provides tuning options for each communications protocol.
NOAGE
Specifies whether priority aging should be in effect.
NUMAIOVPS
Specifies the number of virtual processors for AIO (asynchronous I/O) class threads.
NUMCPUVPS
Specifies the number of virtual processors for CPU class threads.
NUMFIFOVPS
Specifies the number of virtual processors of the FIFO class to run. For more information, refer to First-In-First-Out Virtual Processor.
